Put the paper to work

These starting points connect blank paper to familiar classroom tasks. They suggest a learning stage without claiming alignment to a particular country or curriculum.

Build arrays on a centimeter grid

Use large square cells to connect equal rows, multiplication and area. Print at 100% for true centimeter spacing.

Compare area and perimeter

Join dots to make rectangles and compare their side lengths. Count intervals between dots, not the dots themselves.

Plot positive ordered pairs

Four first-quadrant planes give space for separate plotting tasks after horizontal and vertical coordinates are understood.

Work across four quadrants

Use four −5 to 5 grids after signed coordinates are familiar. These are blank plotting templates, without a preset exercise or answer key.

Physical spacing or mathematical units?

Square graph paper and dot paper use your chosen inch or centimeter spacing. One centimeter means 10 mm; one quarter inch means 6.35 mm. The PDF preserves that distance, and the caption tells you how many whole spaces fit on the page.

Coordinate planes keep the selected coordinate range and square cells. A coordinate unit does not automatically mean a physical inch or centimeter. Choose and label the scale needed for your graph.

Keep measured grids at 100%

Select the same paper size in the generator and the printer dialog. Use Actual size or 100% scaling. Fit to page or shrink settings change the printed grid spacing, even though the PDF itself is correct.

Before a measurement or scale-drawing task, check one or several intervals with a ruler. The number of whole cells can differ between US Letter and A4 because their usable dimensions differ.
