Graphing lines from an intercept and point worksheets
Construct eight lines from a supplied y-intercept and one ordered pair. Choose graphing alone or also find the slope and equation, with worked keys and completed graphs.
Fixed English ready-made files. Custom settings below apply only to the configured PDF.

Start with a ready-made worksheet
Treat the supplied y-intercept as a point with x = 0. Use it and the other point to find the line, then complete the requested graph, slope or equation.
Download the practice pages alone, or include a separate answer key or teacher model. Longer activities may use more than one page.
Work with exact slopes and intercepts. Coordinate graphs use unit intervals from −5 to 5 on both axes, and the worked key connects the given information to the requested values, equation or completed graph.
Choose a focused mode when options are available. The settings change what the learner is given and what they must produce; the student preview and downloadable PDF use the same questions.
Learning objective
What this activity builds
Determine a line from its y-axis crossing and another point.
Worked example
The y-intercept is −1 and the line passes through (2, 3). Find the equation.
m = (3 − (−1))/(2 − 0) = 2, so y = 2x − 1.
The y-intercept supplies (0, −1). The two points determine a rise of four and a run of two, so the slope is two.
Teaching notes
Make the practice count
Write the intercept as an ordered pair before calculating.
Check that the other point has a different x-coordinate.
Show both given points on the graph.
Use the supplied point to check the final equation.

Every coordinate grid uses the fixed −5 to 5 unit window. Graph-only modes omit computed response fields; answer editions complete every requested line or solution region.
Calculate exact slopes from ten pairs of integer-coordinate points. Practice signed differences and reduced fractions, with a separate key that explains the slope calculation.
Graph eight lines using two ordered pairs and a supplied y-intercept. Choose graphing alone or also calculate the slope and write an equation, with separate worked answers.
Graph eight lines in slope-intercept form. Choose graphing alone, graphing with slope and intercept questions, or writing an equation and graph from supplied properties.
