Look at the completed display in each pair. If the digital time is missing, write it and carry over the supplied AM/PM label; if the analog hands are missing, draw them and retain the printed period. Use the given display as evidence, because the hands alone cannot identify AM or PM.
Download the practice pages alone, or include a separate answer key or teacher model. Longer activities may use more than one page.
Customize this worksheetLearning objective
Translate a given time into its missing representation and check that the two displays agree.
Worked example
Draw the minute hand toward 9 and the hour hand three-quarters of the way from 6 toward 7, keeping the supplied PM label.
Forty-five minutes places the longer hand at 9. Because 45 of the hour’s 60 minutes have passed, the shorter hand is close to 7 but has not reached it. The PM information comes from the supplied label rather than the hand positions.
