Use the sample space 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6. Count the faces that meet the condition and write the probability in simplest form.
Download the practice pages alone, or include a separate answer key or teacher model. Longer activities may use more than one page.
Customize this worksheetEach question makes its experiment and event explicit. The answer key connects the favorable count with the whole sample space, then simplifies the fraction. Selected question families control what appears on the sheet.
A probability is a property of the stated model. When outcomes are not equally likely, a simple count of different labels is not enough. With two dice, use 36 ordered pairs rather than eleven possible sums.
Learning objective
Find simple event probabilities using the six possible results of one fair six-sided die.
Worked example
4/6 = 2/3.
The faces 1, 2, 3 and 6 are factors of 6, because each divides 6 with no remainder. The favorable count is four; the total possible count is six.
