Learning objective
Use multiplication by fractional place units to explain and reconstruct a decimal value.
Worked example
(2 × 10) + (4 × 1) + (5 × 0.1) + (0 × 0.01)
The fractional units are one tenth and one hundredth. The zero product records the hundredths place; the full numeral keeps both selected decimal positions.
