Twelve custom skip-counting rows

Set twelve independent starts and steps, including descending sequences. Leave a start blank for a reproducible nonnegative start, or enter zero explicitly.

The downloads above keep the original ten-row edition. These separate files use twelve rows with three clues in each row.

  • Blank starts use seeded values from 0 through 99, independently per row. Enter 0 when the row must begin at zero.
  • Starts can range from −999 to 999, but later terms are not limited to that interval.
  • Step choices include both signs of 2–20, 25, 30, 40, 50 and 100, plus positive 60. Zero and steps of one are not part of this profile.

Your original worksheet stays open. The new worksheet opens in another tab and starts with fresh row settings.

Learning objective

What this activity builds

Generate and complete arithmetic sequences from individually chosen starts and positive steps.

Worked example

Start at 7 and skip by 5: 7, 12, __, __.

17, 22

Add 5 each time: 12 + 5 = 17, then 17 + 5 = 22.

Teaching notes

Make the practice count

  • Leave a start blank for a seeded non-negative value when a custom start is unnecessary.
  • Negative starts and very large jumps are advanced options beyond typical Kindergarten practice.

The new format opens in another tab. Common paper, seed, note and language settings carry across; custom rows begin with that format’s defaults.
