Customize this worksheetGroup by denomination, then combine
Count each printed item once, record denomination subtotals, then combine them as exact New Zealand dollars and cents.
Learning objective
What this activity builds
Combine repeated New Zealand banknote values exactly.
Worked example
How should I count a collection?
Group equal denominations, find each subtotal, then combine them.
The answer key keeps denomination subtotals separate so an adult can check each step.
Teaching notes
Make the practice count
- Begin with a smaller set of familiar denominations.
- Read the large printed value rather than relying on colour or size.
- The drawings are schematic teaching art, not currency-recognition images.
