Name or point to each letter pair and compare its uppercase and lowercase forms. Use reference cards to check alphabet positions.

26 cards on 7 pages in the default deck. The image shows its first page. Adding the reference set produces 14 PDF pages in total.

Twenty-six paired-letter cards cover Aa–Zz. Landscape pages show the complete basic Latin set; output language changes labels, not the alphabet inventory.

The ready-made image shows page 1; each PDF contains the full deck. Cards with references adds a separate complete set with answers or annotations. These are not mirrored duplex backs and make no front/back alignment promise. Print at actual size and cut along the optional guides.

What changes the deck?

Fixed decks keep every card when density changes. Ordered fixed decks ignore the seed; choose Shuffled to use the seed for a different order. Time, number and money-amount decks generate a count from pages × density and can contain repeats.

Learning objective

What this activity builds

Match uppercase and lowercase forms of the same basic Latin letter.

Worked example

Do A and a represent different letters?

No. They are uppercase and lowercase forms of the same letter.

Letter forms can look different while retaining the same alphabet identity.

Teaching notes

Make the practice count

  • This set is the 26-letter basic Latin alphabet, regardless of the selected instruction language. It is not a complete alphabet for every supported language.
  • Use familiar letter names appropriate to the lesson; these cards do not provide phonics recordings or sound rules.
  • The reference cards add positions 1–26. Start with a few useful pairs before practicing alphabet order.
